Exercise 31: Suffix ‘sion’

Spelling Rule/Pattern

When adding the suffix ‘sion’:

1. Drop the final ‘d’ or ‘t’ before adding ‘sion’
2. Drop the ‘e’ before adding ‘ion’ to the words ending in ‘se’
3. Add ‘ion’ to words ending in ‘ss’
4. Drop the ‘de’ before adding ‘sion’

 

A suffix is a set of letters that can be added to the end of a word. Eg. reasonable
