Spelling Rule/Pattern
When adding the suffix ‘sion’:
- Drop the final ‘d’ or ‘t’ before adding ‘sion’
- Drop the ‘e’ before adding ‘ion’ to the words ending in ‘se’
- Add ‘ion’ to words ending in ‘ss’
- Drop the ‘de’ before adding ‘sion’
